- Celebrating the brand's 45th Anniversary, the "Ishikawadai" denim from Studio D'artisan is produced on a vintage 1953 Japanese ring-spinning machine, one of the oldest still in operation. Compared to modern machines, the Ishikawadai machine spins at a much slower speed resulting in a low stress cotton fiber giving the fabric a natural, hand-spun appearance with subtle variations. Woven using short-staple Texas cotton yarn, SDA's Ishikawadai fabric sports an even slub texture with a uniquely fuzzy surface similar to jeans produced during the 1950's. Presented in a rinsed state to prevent shrinkage, these jeans also feature exclusive limited-edition details.
