SP-084S "Tokushima Hinode-Awa Shoai" 45th Anniversary 15oz Selvedge Denim - Regular Straight Fit

  • Celebrating Studio D'Artisan's 45th Anniversary, the "Hinode-Awa" denim fuses two of the brands most highly coveted denim fabrics. Featuring a Tokushima hand-dyed natural indigo warp  and a "Kusaki-Akane" natural plant dye weft, the Hinode-Awa denim features a spectrum of indigos and reds peaking through the fabric's surface. The crossing of these two natural dyes produces a unique color referred to as 二藍 "Futaai" or "Dark/Deep Indigo" which was originally reserved exclusively for Japanese aristocracy. Studio D'Artisan opts for thicker gauge slub yarns for this fabric, producing an uneven slub texture similar to hand-woven fabrics. The denim has been given a one-wash rinse treatment to eliminate shrinkage, and comes fitted with an array of limited edition details.
